Best of our TU Independent Blogs, September 29, 2016: Ten for Thursday

And just like that … summer is drifting away.

Hard to believe, right?  It seemed like summer just arrived three months ago, and now it’s fading off.

Ha.

But before we start raking leaves and carving pumpkins and reminiscing about the Blizzard of ’87… brrr, just thinking about that makes me chilly …

Let’s review some of the great blog posts by the Times Union’s community and independent bloggers, as well as some select entries from the high school and college blogs.

And this week’s crop of pumpkin-patch perfection includes…

  1. Albany County Comptroller Michael Conners’ blog, “God bless Joe Grasso’s family and friends!(Read this first) (thoughts and prayers).
  2. Rob Hoffman in the “Hoffman Files” blog, “Hey Abbott!… and Costello.
  3. David Kalish’s “The Ruminator” blog, “Residents battle to save a green oasis in Clifton Park’s commercial heart.
  4. Andrew Gregory in the CRUMBS music blog, “Retired NYS Pol Pens Political Protest Song ‘Land of Hate.’
  5. Rabbi Matt Cutler’s blog, “Go ahead, toot your own horn!
  6. Heather Fazio’s blog, “ATTN: Customers of Stewart’s, get it together.
  7. Alyssa Johnson’s “Discovering Wildlife” blog, “Black bear marking and sign.
  8. Guest poster Kate T. in the Transgender blog, “Treatment at local Planned Parenthoods.
  9. Frank Robinson’s “Rational Optimist” blog, “The Debate.
  10. Lale Davidson’s “Out of the Ordinary” blog, “Debate highlights.

And now let’s see what the undergraduates are writing…

  1. Graciana Cox at Scotia-Glenville HS, “The benefits of hiking.
  2. Montana Stone in the college blog, “I have two tests, two labs, three problem sets, two quizzes, and a paper due this week.
  3. Dylan Rossiter at Maple Hill HS, “Neighborly connection pushes Maple Hill boys soccer past Chatham.

I’d better bundle up.  It’s going to be a cold winter.  Or at least a chilly fall.  But at least these blog posts will keep me warm.

Have a great day, everybody!
