Best of our TU Community Blogs, July 14, 2016: Ten for Thursday

Something to share before we start our weekly TU blog recap and review.

Yesterday, the Times Union added the first of what I hope will be a continuing series.  On the front page of timesunion.com, they list a feature called “What are Times Union bloggers writing about?”  And from this, they showcase almost two dozen TU independent and community bloggers, along with one of their pieces from the week’s recap.

Nice.  In fact, I spotted my blog post about owning my car Dracourage for its first month in the recap.

Kudos to the Times Union and digital epismotologist Mike Huber for putting this feature together, and I hope it remains part of the TU website for as long as possible.

Okay, now that the TU’s done that…

Let’s take care of the Thursday recap, shall we?

Take a look at these great Times Union blog posts by the TU’s community and independent bloggers, and you’ll be a happy reader of their work.  This week’s crop includes:

  1. Ken Screven’s blog, “I am angry, sad and distraught.”  (Read this first.)
  2. Rob Hoffman in the “Hoffman Files,” “#AllLivesMatter … obviously.
  3. Jessica Winans’ blog, “‘I am NOT black, you are NOT white.’
  4. Professor Warren Roberts’ blog, “One nation, divided.
  5. Rachel Baum’s “Bark: Confessions of a Dog Trainer” blog, “Odd man out.
  6. Kim Swidler’s “Travel Gal” blog, “New Jersey’s Iconic Lighthouses Open for Fall Tours.”  (I wanna go!  I wanna go!!!)
  7. Lale Davidson’s “Out of the Ordinary” blog, “An antidote to violence.
  8. Sara Rose Wheeler’s “Roaring Twenties” blog, “Saying goodbye to Stanley.
  9. Heather Fazio’s blog, “On the way to Edinburgh.
  10. David Kalish’s “The Ruminator” blog, “Survivors of a rare cancer find their own tribe.

So how about that … ten great blog posts by ten of the TU’s great blog writers.  And now the TU independent blogs are getting double promotion.

Awesome all around, eh?

  1. I saw that TU article and immediately thought “Chuck thought of this FIRST”…and smiled. As always, I enjoy this Thursday feature.
